The Reality of Generating a Residual Income
67
There sure seems to be a lot of discussion these days about the need to generate a second (or third) income.
Whether it's creating a side business or passive income stream, no doubt these days we all could use some extra money to help make ends meet.
So what's the problem?
Well, unfortunately for you it is incredibly hard to find credible (i.e. accurate & honest) information about how you can go about doing this.
Why?
Because of one fact that is never discussed, which is...
People Making Real Money Rarely (if ever) Share their Money-Making Secret
And when you get right down to it, why should they.
Before you get the wrong idea, let's use an example that shows you what I mean.
Say you discover a way to easily and legally generate an extra $500 a month without spending a lot of your own money.
And let's add that this opportunity only requires a few extra hours each month to create real results for you.
Now let's add that one day a neighbor asks you how things are going, and you just can't help yourself and say "great, now that I'm making a few extra bucks."
Puzzled, he asks you if you got another job or if you got a raise (not likely in this economy). And you answer "no."
If your neighbor asks what you are doing to make the extra money, do you tell him or her the truth?
Be brutally honest with yourself for a moment here.
Ninety nine times out of hundred most people would only share their "secret" with someone else if doing so would directly benefit him or her.
In fact, this IS the business model for MLM "opportunities."
Meaning, most people would NOT share what they were doing with someone else unless there was a way to profit from sharing the secret.
And that's the honest truth.
How can I say this to you?
Because since 2004 I have been self-employed. And since that time I have opened up a new business every year.
Some of my businesses make only a couple of hundred bucks a month. Some bring in a solid $1,500 to $2,000 each month. And one business does more than that.
What's more, all of them are profitable.
And when you add all the income they generate each month it comes out to a pretty good amount -- enough to live fairly well.
Additionally, over the past 7 or so years I have explored just about every business model and residual income "scheme" imaginable.
Sometimes that meant actually "taking the plunge" and investing hard-earned dollars into a project just to see if it was possible to make the "real money" someone was promising me.
Unfortunately, most turned out to be fundamentally and fatally flawed.
So what did I learn from those experiences?
10 Questions to Consider Before Signing Up for ANY Passive Income Opportunity
Before you sign up for the next version of the "latest and greatest" be sure to ask these questions to the person trying to "sell" you.
The answers you get will make the difference between real opportunity or the next big scam.
Without further ado, here is your list:
- How much does the initial investment cost?
- Is there a monthly investment of dollars to "buy into" the program?
- How much time is usually required to make this work?
- How much time did YOU work this system to get your desired payoff?
- Will I need to do any direct selling to customers?
- How is this opportunity marketed to customers?
- What is the payout structure (i.e how to do I get paid)?
- Can you show me how much YOU make each month through this business venture?
- Do you get a bonus or a cut of my business by "sharing" this information with me?
- Are there any pending FTC (Federal Trade Commission) actions against the parent company?
That list, along with your own "gut feeling" should help you search through all the passive income opportunities available.
Oh, and one more side note: if you noticed that I never actually told you what any of my businesses actually are, that is no accident.
And it's no secret, either. What works for me works for me. My own personal pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is the result of a lot of thought, work, effort & testing.
So what about you?
Well, I'm going to provide you with a link to a website owned by a friend of mine. She doesn't know I've written this article, and I don't get paid ONE SINGLE PENNY if you follow this link (or not).
She's not going to try to sell you anything (that I know of). Quite simply, she is a SUCCESS COACH.
I've never gone to her for coaching, though I did work with a business coach for a few years.
On a side note, I know her husband very well and he is "good people." But that's another story.
I'm not sure if she can help you, or work with you. I do know that she runs online success boot camps and that sort of thing. And she also offers a free 30 minute session (last time I checked).
Bottom line, it probably is worth your time to visit the link I'm going to give you, and to sign up for your 30 minute consultation (if it's still available).
What you two decide to do after that is strictly your business.
Does that sound fair enough to you?
Very good.
Here is your link to the Success Genie. I wish you all the best...
P.S. If you are asking yourself why I am sharing this with you (it's a valid question ~ good for you), it's because I believe in karma and the principle that "what goes around comes around."
It's also my way of getting back at the scam artists who are trying to make a quick buck at your expense, just like they did to me before I opened my first business when things seemed really down for me.
So now you know...
